Boundaries is a 5 piece band from Hartford, Connecticut that play an unforgiving blend of beatdown and metalcore that can best be described as pure HEAVY. Boundaries released their 3rd EP “My Body in Bloom” on February 22nd via Unbeaten Records and it has been on constant repeat since.
On “My Body in Bloom”, the group continue to showcase the ferocity that their past EP’s have become known for, but with an added special ingredient tossed into the mix. Boundaries have layered in a number of spoken word intros and outros, melodic hardcore style riffing, and a unique vocal delivery that bleeds with raw emotion. These new melodic sections add immense depth to the album as a whole, and at certain times, channel a sound similar to artists like Counterparts and Conveyer in the best way possible. Boundaries do an excellent job walking the line between melodic and heavy, while also staying true to their signature sound, which isn’t always an easy thing to do. The “Reign of Pain” began in 2017, and thankfully it’s not stopping anytime soon.
Clocking in at just 18 minutes, “My Body in Bloom” is a fast paced auditory assault packed with cymbal slapping beatdowns and razor sharp breakdowns that are guaranteed to turn any venue into a warzone. Fans of all types of underground heavy music can rejoice, as there is truly something for everyone on this record.
